The emergency pool repair procedure is followed when immediate repair is required and cannot wait for the traditional remodel submission process.
A qualified professional must apply for a remodel the next business day after the emergency repair was made. Call the health district at (702) 759-0571 for an appointment; inform the staff member that an emergency repair was performed.
Minor remodel plan reviews are simple and depend on the scope of work. They are required when:
adding to an existing public bathing, swimming facility or public spa, or
altering the equipment or structure of a public bathing, swimming facility or public spa.
Application and plans must be submitted to the health district before the start of the remodel work by:
a professional engineer registered in the state of Nevada,
an architect registered in the state of Nevada, or
a licensed contractor who holds a classification A license with an A-10 sub-classification issued by the Nevada State Contractors Board
Minor vs. Major Remodel
Plan review staff will determine whether a remodel is considered major or minor.
Fees will be assessed based on the scope of work.
Like-for-like equipment exchanges require notification to the assigned operations inspector, so staff can determine that a like-for-like exchange is occurring, unless the equipment is the same manufacture and model number of the replaced equipment.
Upon change of ownership of a public bathing, swimming facility or public spa, the new owner must apply for a health permit to the health district, per NRS 444.080.
