The Heroes Among Us





No cape or mask; just heart

We queried staff and found that the heroes among us look like everyday “normal” people. No masks. No capes. No disproportionate biceps. The only commonality among these health district heroes is their desire to help those less fortunate. Read more.





Local volunteer receives national recognition

Susan Vondracek, a licensed veterinary technician, received national recognition from the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) for her response efforts during the Christmastime flooding in Mesquite and the avalanche warnings on Mt. Charleston. Read more.
