The health district is currently conducting a TB contact investigation at a Clark County neonatal intensive care unit. As part of its investigation, the health district is conducting TB testing of people who were potentially exposed to a person who was sick with TB.
In May 2013 the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) began collaborating with public health officials in several states and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to investigate a multistate outbreak of hepatitis A.
In late March and early April 2009, cases of human infection with swine influenza A (H1N1) viruses were first reported in Southern California and near San Antonio, Texas. On June 11, 2009 the World Health Organization (WHO) signaled that a global pandemic of novel influenza A (H1N1) was underway.
In February 2008 the health district advised patients who received injected anesthesia medication at the Endoscopy Center of Nevada (700 Shadow Lane) of a risk for possible exposure to hepatitis C and other bloodborne pathogens.
