Solid Waste Plan Review & Permitting

A permit to operate must be obtained for any Solid Waste Management Facility in Clark County.
The purchase of an existing solid waste management facility requires a new permit to operate. Prior to approving a change of ownership facilities must be brought into compliance with the current solid waste regulations.
Solid Waste Plan Review (SWPR) is the formal process to obtain approval to operate a facility for the management of solid waste in Clark County, Nevada.
Types of Solid Waste Management Facilities include the following:
- Compost Plant
- Landfill-Class I
- Landfill-Class III
- Materials Recovery Facility
- Medical Waste Management Facility
- Recycling Center
- Solid Waste Storage Bin Facility
- Transfer Station
- Waste Energy/Fuel Facility
- Waste Grease Facility
- Waste Tire Management Facility
