Media Advisory: Southern Nevada Health District hosts 2nd Annual Environmental Health Expo

What: | The Southern Nevada Health District is hosting an Environmental Health Expo in celebration of World Environmental Health Day. This year’s theme, Global Food Safety and Sustainability, highlights how providing safer food and water can raise a community’s public health status and maximize environmental health benefits.

When: | Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. |
Where: | Southern Nevada Health District 280 S. Decatur Blvd. Las Vegas, NV, 89107 |
Why: | In addition to restaurant inspections, the Health District’s Environmental Health Division is responsible for more than 30 programs that impact nearly everyone in Southern Nevada. The Environmental Health Expo is an opportunity for the Health District to share program information, provide hands-on demonstrations, exhibits, and more with the public about programs that impact child care facilities, tattoo and body piercing establishments, used mattress regulations, safe drinking water standards, recycling, lead poisoning, and additional topics.

Who: | Health District staff will be available to answer questions and provide demonstrations. Additional community partners will include Republic Services, RENUoil of America, and SA Recycling. |
