Health District Inspects Businesses Impacted by Water Outages

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
June 28, 2005

(Las Vegas, Nev., – June 28, 2005) – Last night environmental health specialists began inspecting businesses permitted by the Southern Nevada Health District, and affected by the water outage reported by the Las Vegas Valley Water District, to ensure they do not operate without running water.

Permitted facilities such as food and tattoo and body piercing establishments require running water in order to meet appropriate sanitation guidelines outlined in health district regulations. Health inspectors will continue to inspect permitted establishments for the duration of the water outage to make certain they are complying with all regulations.

The public should be aware of these guidelines and can report a permitted facility operating without water to the Southern Nevada Health District at 759-0588.
