What: | The Southern Nevada Health District, Clark County, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas are planning a full-scale emergency response exercise called The Mega-POD to test plans that include dispensing medication to Southern Nevadans in a public health emergency. The exercise will include approximately 200 staff members from Clark County who will play multiple roles during the exercise. |

Where: | Thomas & Mack Center Located at the corner of Tropicana Avenue and Swenson Street Las Vegas, NV 89154. Use the main entrance via Swenson Street. |

Why: | Certain public health emergencies may require the Health District to provide medications or immunizations to the public. The Health District works with jurisdictional partners such as Clark County and UNLV to be able to set up Points of Dispensing (PODs) in large facilities as part of its response. The exercise is designed to test the Health District’s ability to dispense medication to the community in a large-scale public health emergency as well as to test the logistics of the Thomas & Mack Center as a large-scale POD location. |
