Emergency Medical Services & Trauma System
The county emergency medical system, built through the cooperation of physicians, nurses, emergency medical technicians, community volunteers and elected officials has become a model for the nation.
The Office of Emergency Medical Services & Trauma System (EMSTS) provides medical direction and protocols for the county’s emergency response team.
The EMSTS approves the training for more than 3,000 certified emergency medical personnel at all levels: EMTs, Advanced EMTs, Paramedics and pre-hospital nurses.
The EMSTS oversees certification and licensure testing for EMS personnel and permits all emergency medical services agencies within the county.
The EMS Regulations are approved by the Southern Nevada District Board of Health.
Mission
To protect the public, EMS providers and agencies in Clark County by ensuring competent and efficient delivery of pre-hospital emergency care and transport of the sick and injured through advocacy, resources, leadership, education and regulatory oversight.
