Healthy Kiwi Monsters
Ingredients:
- 4 ripe kiwis
- 8 blueberries
- 4 small strawberries (optional, for extra decoration)
- 2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt (for “scar” details)
- Mini chocolate chips (optional, for extra eyes or decoration)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Kiwis:
- Peel the kiwis carefully, leaving some of the flesh intact at the top to create a “hair” effect.
- Use a knife to shape the top of the kiwi to resemble Frankenstein’s monster’s flat head.
- Create the Face:
- Cut a small slice off the bottom of each kiwi to create a stable base.
- Use a spoon to carve out small circles for the eyes about halfway down the kiwi. Make sure not to go too deep.
- Add the Eyes:
- Place a blueberry in each carved eye socket.
- If desired, use mini chocolate chips to create additional details or pupils.
- Make the Mouth:
- With a toothpick or a knife, carefully carve a jagged mouth to give it a monster look. You can also use a bit of Greek yogurt to create a “scar” or teeth effect.
- Optional Decoration:
- If using strawberries, cut them into small pieces to create additional features like eyebrows or hair.
- You can also add a little Greek yogurt around the eyes or mouth for extra details.
- Serve:
- Place the kiwi monsters on a plate and serve immediately as a fun and healthy snack!
Enjoy your spooky yet healthy Kiwi Monsters!
Banana Boos
Ingredients:
- 4 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (or white chocolate chips)
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for melting chocolate)
- Mini chocolate chips or raisins (for eyes)
- Prepare the Bananas:
- Peel the bananas and cut them in half so they stand upright.
- Melt the Chocolate:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Heat in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth.
- Dip the Bananas:
- Use a spoon or a fork to drizzle or dip the melted chocolate over the top half of each banana, allowing it to flow down the sides to create a ghostly appearance.
- Add the Faces:
- While the chocolate is still warm, place mini chocolate chips or raisins onto the banana to create eyes and a mouth. Be creative with the expressions!
- Chill:
- Place the decorated bananas on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate for about 10-15 minutes, or until the chocolate hardens.
- Serve:
- Once set, arrange the Banana Boos on a plate and enjoy your spooky, healthy Halloween treat!
These Banana Boos are not only fun to make but also a delicious and nutritious option for Halloween!
