Tuberculosis Treatment & Control Clinic
Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the deadliest diseases in the world. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there were 1.3 million TB-related deaths worldwide in 2017. TB continues to create challenges to health care workers, including new resistant strains, and co-infection with HIV.
The Tuberculosis Treatment and Control Clinic works with its community partners to provide coordinated treatment and services to Clark County TB patients including:
- Case management for all clients with TB. This includes education, treatment, and directly observed therapy.
- Evaluation of new Class B immigrants in need of TB care and follow-up.
- Contact investigations, including identification, testing and treatment of people with close relationships to people with active TB.
- Education about TB treatment and control guidelines.
