LAS VEGAS – Southern Nevadans now have the unique opportunity to get COVID-19 vaccines at a pop-up clinic offered by the Southern Nevada Health District, Clark County, and their partners in Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders, beginning today, Thursday, June 10 through Sunday, June 13, and again Thursday, June 17 through Sunday, June 20. The COVID-19 vaccines are being administered in the Modelo Cantina Club overlooking the field.
Everyone who gets vaccinated at the clinic will be automatically entered into a drawing to win a pair of tickets for a tour of Allegiant Stadium. Allegiant Stadium tours offer an immersive, behind-the-scenes experience of exclusive areas including the broadcast booth, locker rooms, and an opportunity to step out onto the field. One winner will be selected each day of the clinic. Ticket recipients will get to choose from designated tour dates and times in June. People receiving the vaccine will also receive a “rally towel” and have the opportunity to take a photo in a designated area.
The Pfizer and Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccines are both offered at the clinic. Appointments at this site are encouraged and begin at 2 p.m. and end at 7:45 p.m. each day. “We are excited to offer another unique opportunity for Southern Nevadans to get the COVID-19 vaccine,” said Dr. Fermin Leguen, District Health Officer for the Southern Nevada Health District. “Allegiant Stadium has supported our mitigation activities throughout the response, and I want to thank them for offering this clinic and their contributions to our efforts to stop the pandemic. We need to keep encouraging people to get vaccinated and the ongoing support of our community is vital to our continued success.”
COVID-19 vaccines are safe, effective, free and available to everyone 12 years of age and older. The Health District encourages everyone to get fully vaccinated. Children under the age of 18 must also have written consent from a parent or guardian at the time of services. The Health District’s policy is available on its website at www.snhd.info/covid-consent.
“We must do all that we can to encourage more people to get vaccinated in order to keep COVID-19 under control in this community,” said Clark County Commission Chairman Marilyn Kirkpatrick, who also serves as vice chair of the Southern Nevada Health District Board of Health. “I encourage everyone to get vaccinated at this event, at one of our local pharmacies, or at one of our many other public vaccination clinics.”
“We are hopeful that this rare opportunity to go inside Allegiant Stadium will motivate residents to get vaccinated,” said Clark County Commissioner Michael Naft, whose district includes the stadium. “For anyone who has been waiting for the right time this unique experience will be safe, convenient, and free.”
Parking for people attending the COVID-19 vaccine clinic is available in Lots E and F of Allegiant Stadium, and the clinic area can be accessed through the southeast entrance. People who may need assistance or children under the age of 18 may be accompanied by one additional person into the stadium. Anyone who is making an appointment for a second dose of the Pfizer vaccine needs to ensure it has been 21 days or more since their first dose. People who receive their first dose of Pfizer vaccine at the clinic and require a second dose will be able to get vaccinated at any Health District or community clinic offering the Pfizer vaccine.
