| What: | The Southern Nevada Health District is issuing a call-to-action to community partners and health care providers to implement interventions and strategies to achieve 90-90-90 in Nevada.
90-90-90 is a set of goals that requires a community response to prevent new cases of HIV, increase medical access and screening, and promote linkages to services for those impacted by HIV. The concept is that 90 percent of people who are infected with HIV will be diagnosed, 90 percent of those diagnosed will be on antiretroviral treatment, and 90 percent of those receiving treatment will be virally suppressed. New Health District initiatives designed to achieve these goals include Academic Detailing training for staff, and the expansion of bio-medical interventions such as PrEP. |

| Why: | Nationally, rates of new HIV diagnoses decreased from 2012 to 2016 while rates in Clark County have remained the same. Clark County’s population represents 73 percent of Nevada’s population but accounted for 90 percent of Nevada’s new HIV diagnoses in 2017. |
