FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
September 6, 2022
LAS VEGAS – The Pop-Up Produce Markets are back and just in time for the fall produce season! Six markets are scheduled at the Bonneville Transit Center (BTC) and the Southern Nevada Health District starting in September. Patrons will pay about a dollar for a pound/bundle of fresh fruit or vegetables. The program is a partnership between the Southern Nevada Health District’s Office of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC), and Together We Can’s Veggie Buck Truck in an effort to increase access to low-cost, healthy fresh fruit and vegetables. For more information, call the Health District’s Office of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion at (702) 759-1270 or visit the Community Calendar on the Get Healthy Clark County website.

Healthy recipe cards, nutrition education and other health resources will be available at the markets.
Last spring’s six pop-up produce markets sold more than 2,500 pounds of produce. Nearly 20 percent of clients used their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits and $355 worth of Double-Up Food Bucks coupons were distributed.
