NRS 439, NAC 444 and NAC445A give the Southern Nevada Health District the authority to enforce cross-connection protection requirements to ensure the safety of the public water system.

Health district inspectors are trained to identify water systems having potential and actual cross-connections requiring backflow protection at permitted food facilities, aquatic health facilities, public accommodations and mobile home parks to ensure they are compliant with installation and testing requirements.
