Home/Sewage/Septic Disposal Systems (ISDS)

Sewage/Septic Disposal Systems (ISDS)

The Southern Nevada Health District is informing you of a proposed update to the existing SNHD Regulations Governing individual sewage disposal systems and liquid waste management. The regulations have not been updated since their development in 2009, and our goal is to simplify and clarify the existing language, as well as make a number of needed changes. A copy of the draft regulations, a summary of major changes and  the current regulations are below.

The Health District is interested in your feedback regarding the proposed changes and has posted a survey where you can provide input on how these revisions may impact your business.  The survey closes on April 11, 2025.  A public workshop to discuss the proposed changes will be held on April 1, from 10–11a.m., in the Red Rock conference room at the Main Public Health Center, 280 S. Decatur Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89107. The Business Impact Survey results will be presented to the Board of Health on May 22, 2025.

The Southern Nevada Health District has not created a program in response to the passing of AB220 on June 6, 2023. It is our understanding that in the future we may be provided with funds to run a sewer conversion program. At this time, we have not been awarded any funds to assist residents. Please visit SNWA’s Septic to Sewer Conversion Program website for options
